HOW TO OBTAIN A TAX PAYERS CARD IN CAMEROON
Taxpayer card in Cameroon is the official identification document for every business operating in Cameroon regardless of their legal status. With the update in the finance law, civil servants, corporate workers as well as any individual wishing to open a bank account or run other operations, is required to have a taxpayer card. Taxpayer card carries a unique identification number which helps the tax authorities to identify a particular business or individual.
With the advent of technology and innovation in taxation system in Cameroon, taxpayer card can be generated online in less than no time. This section of the book gives you the practical guide on how to generate taxpayer online.
ESSENTIAL DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO CREATE A TAXPAYER CARD
Creating a taxpayer card will greatly depend on the purpose of creation that is for natural person, company or organization). In effect, the documents required will greatly depend on the type of taxpayer card to be created.
a. For a Company or Organization
1. Business Registration (front part)
üi. Business Registration (back part) ill. Location Plan of Business iv. Business Status (Optional)
b. For a Natural Person
i. ID Card (Front)
i. ID Card (Back) ii. Location plan
iv. Business Registration (if it’s a global tax payer)-Optional
FILLING THE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION TO CREATE YOUR TAXPAYER CARD
The information required to create a taxpayer card are critical and must be provided with absolute clarity. From the required documents, this information can be extracted however, the taxpayer is required to select or fill in any other mandatory information.
Note: Taxpayer card is a unique identity and No persons or company or organization can have the same taxpayer number. In the same way, no natural person or company or organization can have two or more different taxpayer card with the same information.
NB: to ensure proper submission without rejection, ensure you filled all cell box with red (*).
To create a taxpayer card for a company, the following information must be filled.
1. Business Name, acronym, date and place of creation,
2. Business Directors or Owner, Legal Status, Tax System and
Activity
3. Upload, front and back or business registration, location plan and status
4. Business Location from country, town, quarter, street and municipality
5. You select a management unit and enter valid email and phone number
6. Check the certification statement box
7. Before clicking on send, make sure you review your information.
8. Optionally, you can enter a password of at least 4digits and confirm it before submission. This will create an online declaration account.
To create a taxpayer card for a natural person, the following information must be filled.
1. The persons first, middle and last name.
2. Date and place of birth
3. Name of Mother and Father
4. Taxpayer’s Gender and marital Status
5. Tax System and Activity of the natural person
6. Upload front and back of ID Card, location plan & business registration
7. Person’s Location from country, town, quarter, street and municipality
8. You select a management unit and enter valid email and phone number
9. Check the certification statement box
10. Before clicking on send, make sure you review your information.
11. Optionally, you can enter a password of at least 4digits and confirm it before submission. This will create an online declaration account.
STEP TO GENERATE TAXPAYER CARD
1. Open taxation website at www.impots.cm and click on E-
Services (or E-Registration) at left corner of the web-page.
2. Select the create taxpayer
3. In the new page titled Online Registration of Taxpayers, elect “I have not yet been registered”
4. The next page is titled Registering a Tax ID: Read the instruction carefully and check the box of the type of taxpayer card you want to create Natural Person, Company or Organization) alongside the checkbox to acknowledge you have read and certify the law about taxpayer card
5. Next Step is filling the essential information and it will greatly depend on the taxpayer card you want to create that is either for a person or company or an organization.
6. Submit and print your taxpayer card
